Facilitating Professionals (Facilitating Level 2)

As a facilitator, project leader, scrum master or subject specialist, you are increasingly expected to be able to guide / facilitate a group or team meeting. But:

  • How to guide a group?
  • How to guide a group if you are also responsible for the content?
  • How to get from problem to solution or from question to answer?
  • What to do if the energy in a group drops?
  • How to do ensure a good dialogue? A dialogue in which everyone is involved and given the opportunity to get things off their chest?
  • How to foster cooperation, sharing and using each other’s knowledge?
  • When to move with the group as a facilitator and when not?
  • How to choose the most suitable method?
  • How to make a good agenda for the workshop?
  • How to take the diversity in the group into account?

During the training you will receive answers to these and many more questions. You will increase your personal effectiveness as a facilitator of meetings, brainstorms and other meetings.

You are confident to facilitate a meeting and guide a group or team to the best possible result.

What do you learn during training?

The basis of the training is formed by the integral model. This model describes the three perspectives from which you can guide a meeting: I, WE and IT.

The first day is dominated by the I perspective. Who are you as a facilitator, what do you want to learn, what are your personal interests. How does these interests affect your interaction with the group and how you deal with resistance and ‘difficult’ behavior of participants.

The second day is devoted to the IT perspective. The facilitation process from the intake with the client, through the design of a workshop up to and including the implementation of the workshop, is central on this day.

The third day is dominated by the WE perspective. You will be learnt to deal with methods aimed at creating a common image in the group.

On the fourth day we integrate the three perspectives. Each participant is given the opportunity to demonstrate what he or she has learned during the first days of training by facilitating a short workshop from their own case. We start the day with the theory of intervention styles.

During the entire course you practice your skills as facilitator by standing in front of the group a few times a day. After each exercise you get reflection from the other participants and the trainers.

IAF Basic Competences

During the training the 6 basic competences of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) will be followed. This makes the training a good preparation for the assessment to become a Certified Professional Facilitator.

This course is also be given in Dutch as ‘Faciliteren van Professionals (Faciliteren level 2)

The training days are June 10, 11 and 24 and July 7, 2020. All days from 9 am - 5 pm.

The training takes 4 days (2 - 1 - 1). In addition, material must be read prior to the training and time is required prior to days 2 to 4 for preparing a mini-workshop.
Minimum 4 and maximum 6 participants.
Voor wie

This course is intended for anyone who already has some experience with facilitating and who wants to learn to better facilitate groups of professionals.

Investering

The investment for this 4-day training is € 1995 excl. VAT. This amount includes an extensive digital manual and a set of more than 150 work forms on PDF, coffee / tea and lunch. In addition, each participant will receive one copy of the book ‘Diverging Conversations through Facilitation’.
